On 2nd February 2009 is the Anniversary of KK City Day, a Parade and Flag Raising Ceremony will be held at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu starting at 7:30 am until 12:00 pm. This ceremony is held to remember and to celebrate the elevation of Kota Kinabalu in becoming a city, with the participation of the Kota Kinabalu folks.
