A Recitation of Yassin, Tahlil and Do'a Ceremony in conjunction with the 9th KK City Anniversary will be held on 31st January 2009, beginning from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the KK City Hall Headquarter.

During the ceremony, Muslim guests will be performing Solat Maghrib, Solat Isya' dan Solat Hajat together as well as recitating Yassin, Tahlil and Do'a Kesyukuran prayers. About 500 Yassin books will be given to ten selected Mosques and Surau around Kota Kinabalu City too. This ceremony is held annually to remember and to celebrate the elevation of Kota Kinabalu in becoming a city on 2nd February 2000.
